PHYSICAL THERAPY

 

What is Physical Therapy?

       Physical therapy is meant to promote proper movement and function for those individuals with disabilities and/or injuries.  Physical therapy should only provided by a licensed physical therapist or a physical therapy assistant under the supervision of a physical therapist.  Physical therapists examine individuals and develop a plan of care to encourage function, decrease pain, and prevent disability.

 

What does a physical therapist do?

       A physical therapist utilizes exercise and manual techniques to educate and promote maximum function in an individual with any movement dysfunction.

 

Who can benefit?

       Physical Therapists work with individuals who suffer from orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and developmental disabilities.  Common diagnoses include but are not limited to:

á     Post-op

á     Sports injuries

á     ParkinsonÕs Disease

á     Congestive Heart Failure
