What is Hippotherapy?
Hippotherapy literally means "treatment with a horse".
Hippotherapy is a treatment strategy that is used as part of an
overall treatment plan for a broad range of children and adults
with special needs. the acronym for Hippotherapy is HPOT.
How does it work?
The client is positioned on the horse with the assist of one
Therapist, a horse leader, and a side walker. The client is
positioned on and actively responds to the movement of the
horse. The therapist directs the movement of the horse,
analyzes the client's responses, and adjusts treatment
accordingly.
